Trainings:
Illinois Department of Human Services DSP Training Curriculum Modules
40 hours of in-classroom training is required.
Includes American Red Cross Adult/Child CPR and First Aid two year certification
Training certificate provided with copies of the sign-in sheets
Participants will be certified by the Illinois Department of Human Services for the classroom components of this program.
80 hours of on-the-job training is required for full certification as a DSP and is required to be provided by the employing agency.
All training must be completed within 120 days of hire.
The employing agency is responsible for submitting DSP training record to the Healthcare Worker Registry.

A DSP or QIDP notebook will be issued to all participants who successfully complete the course(s).
