Stronger Providers. Stronger Services. Better Lives.

The Provider Coalition unites the organizations that serve Illinois's intellectual and developmental disability community, so no provider has to face today's challenges alone.

Across Illinois, providers are navigating the same pressures: workforce shortages, rising regulatory demands, and funding that never quite keeps up. The Provider Coalition brings these organizations together to share what works, advocate with one voice, and strengthen the services that individuals and families depend on.

Built by Providers, for Providers

The Why

The Provider Coalition was created because Illinois providers face the same pressures alone: workforce shortages, regulatory demands, and funding gaps. It unites them to strengthen the I/DD system through collaboration, advocacy, and shared resources.

The Problem

Too often, providers solve the same problems alone. Through collective action, members share best practices, tackle workforce challenges, advocate for stronger I/DD policy, build partnerships, and improve the quality and sustainability of services statewide.

Why Join

Meaningful change happens when providers work together. By bringing organizations together around common goals, the Coalition creates stronger providers, stronger services, and better experiences for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Becoming a Member

To keep the Provider Coalition a credible and representative voice for providers across the state, organizations seeking membership must meet the following requirements.

  • Hold a current license, certification, or approval. Maintain all licenses, certifications, accreditations, or approvals required by the State of Illinois and any applicable regulatory agencies to serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

  • Be in good standing. Remain in good standing with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, and not be subject to sanctions, suspension, revocation, or other actions that would materially impair the organization's ability to provide services.

  • Serve individuals with I/DD. Actively provide direct, indirect, clinical, residential, vocational, day, behavioral, therapeutic, support, or administrative services that benefit individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Illinois.

  • Operate within Illinois. Maintain operations, programs, or services that support Illinois residents with I/DD.

  • Support the Coalition's mission and values. Uphold the Coalition's guiding principles and participate in a collaborative, respectful manner that advances the interests of the provider community and the individuals served.

  • Designate an official representative. Appoint at least one representative authorized to participate in Coalition meetings, communications, and voting on behalf of the organization.

The Coalition reserves the right to review, suspend, or terminate membership if an organization no longer meets eligibility requirements or engages in conduct inconsistent with the Coalition's mission, values, or governing policies.
